K.O.B aka konney
I am from Accra, Ghana, where I grew up along the coast. I began painting at a very young age, around 4 years old, and continued throughout my primary school years while studying. My passion for painting is what first drew me to it—I simply love to paint. Over time, I also saw painting as a way out of the difficult circumstances I was facing.
My style is a blend of abstraction and realism, as I try to capture the experiences we face in everyday life, particularly on the African continent. I focus mainly on portraits, especially of women, aiming to convey the wide range of emotions they experience, whether it's happiness, sadness, or something more complex. I try to reflect and attract those feelings through my work.
I love playing with colours, but beyond the colours and images, there’s always a deeper story behind each piece. I hope people see my art as a form of therapy—something that can help heal emotional stress. When people look at my paintings, I want them to connect with the colours, the image, and the narrative behind it, and ultimately, to fall in love with what they see.
