OUR STORY
From a young age, I have always been drawn to adventure. My love for travel has taken me to many corners of the globe, where each trip is an opportunity to tick an item off my bucket list and, without fail, to visit a museum. These museum visits, however, often leave me yearning for more. I search for the contributions of the Black community to the culture and history of each country I visit, but all too often, I am met with disappointment. The works of Black artists are rarely recognized, celebrated, or even acknowledged.
This recurring experience sparked a fire within me—a passion to change the narrative and bring the incredible works of Black artists to the forefront. And so, Strokes of Africa was born.
Our journey began in July 2020 with the launch of our website, www.StrokesOfAfrica.com, and our Instagram page, @StrokesOfAfrica. Since then, we have been overwhelmed by the support and enthusiasm from art lovers around the world. The collection of canvas art we offer is now available for order, and each purchase directly supports the artists who created these masterpieces.
Strokes of Africa is more than just an art gallery. It is a movement, a commitment to showcasing the beauty and creativity of African art.
